Dental
Q. Why have I not received a dental ID card this year?
A. MetLife does not provide dental ID cards. MetLife will verify your eligibility with your dentist, via your social security number. You may also provide your dentist with a MetLife Dental Claim form which can be found under the Forms and Contacts link.Q. Does MetLife provide members with a vision discount?
A. No, the vision discount is provided by Aetna’s EyeMed Vision Plan.
Q. What happens if I go to a dentist who is not in MetLife’s Preferred Dental Program?
A. You can still receive benefits from a non-network dentist however, the plan will only pay up to the Reasonable and Customary (R&C) fee for that type of service, therefore you may pay more out of pocket for a non-network dentist than a Preferred Dental Provider.
Q. I am enrolled in the Enhanced Plan, why is my paid prescription amount listing an amount that is higher than my co-pay or not within the three tier payment levels?
A. FSA participants with auto-file have prescription claims filed “Real-time” to their FSA Medical account. The pharmacy is unable to distinguish at that time what the co-pay is, therefore they list the full billed price on the receipt. Aetna reviews the claim and ensures that the appropriate co-pay is deducted from the FSA account and the plan pays the rest.
